Best Coworking Spaces in Penang | Digital Nomad Approved!

with No Comments

Penang, Malaysia is quickly becoming one of the top digital nomad hubs in Southeast Asia, and the robust Penang coworking space scene is a great indicator of that. We visited several of Penang’s top coworking spaces on a mission to determine which ones were worthy of your time. These six coworking spaces represent the best of what Penang has to offer for digital nomads. Also, if you like to work from cafes don’t miss our list of Penang’s best cafes to work from!

The best part about the Penang coworking scene is the price. The prices for coworking here are much more reasonable than any other place we’ve been in Southeast Asia…or anywhere else for that matter.

**NOTE** There is also a FREE Coworking Day every first Thursday of the month. You can work from any of Penang’s coworking spaces for free that day. It’s a great chance to check out a coworking space you’ve never been to before without having to pay for a day pass!

Every digital nomad has different tastes. We don’t claim to know what everyone is going to like. Therefore, we have made no attempt to rank this list of coworking spaces. They are presented in no particular order.

@CAT Penang

Address: 16, Gat Lebuh China, George Town, 10300 George Town, Pulau Pinang

@CAT is a coworking space focused on tech entrepreneurs, startups, and digital nomads. Their mission is to make Penang a more startup friendly city. Their coworking area is huge, with long rows of tables, and plugs at every station. They also have some smaller rooms with hot desks if you don’t like the big open space, or just want to get away from the crowd. Inside is very focused and work oriented, the space is large so all you’ll hear around you is low mumbling. @CAT has a kitchen with eating areas separate from the work room, that means you won’t be distracted when a coworker decides to make a tuna melt in the microwave. They even have shower facilities if you work up a sweat from crushing it so hard.
